kecak dance from bali



    Kecak dance is a typical Balinese arts more major tells about the Ramayana and is played mainly by men. The dance is performed by many (tens or better) of male dancers who sits a circular and lined up with the rhythm of a particular calling for the "cak" and raised both arms, depicting the story of Ramayana when the rows of APE helps Rama against Ravana.

    However, Kecak is derived from ritual Sangyang, namely the dancer will be on conditions not aware, do the communication with God or spirit ancestors and then deliver the harapan-harapannya to the community.

   The dancers who sits the circular of wearing checkered cloth as a chessboard like which circular in their waists. In addition to the dancers, there are also other dancers portray characters such as Rama, Shinta in Ramayana, Rawana, Hanuman, and Sugriwa.


    the song dance Kecak taken from the dance ritual Sanghyang. In addition, do not use the balinese instrument. only uses kincringan worn on the feet of dancers who played figures Ramayana.

     around the 1930s Wayan Limbak collaborated with the painter Walter Spies Germany created the Kecak dance based on the tradition of Sanghyang and parts of the story of Ramayana. Wayan Limbak popularizing the dance this time traveling roving the world along with groups of his Balinese dancer.
